Miller Starr Regalia Recognized as a "Green" Business
Walnut Creek, Calif., (March 17, 2009) – Miller Starr Regalia announced today that it has been certified as a “green” business as part of the Bay Area Green Business Program. The program was developed by Bay Area local governments in collaboration with U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), California Environmental Protection Agency (Cal EPA), Department of Toxic Substances Control and the general business community and has certified nearly 1600 businesses throughout the Bay Area since 1997. This certification denotes that Miller Starr Regalia is not only in compliance with environmental regulations, but has taken action to conserve resources and protect the environment.
“We are committed to creating a more sustainable environment,” said Gene Miller, Chairman of Miller Starr Regalia “in our offices and in the communities where we live.”
The firm developed a Green Committee over a year ago in order to implement more sustainable business practices. The committee was comprised of both staff and attorneys, with the goal of analyzing the firm’s current practices and looking for ways to reduce the environmental impact of our business. The firm now uses 100% recycled paper products, encourages utilization of double-sided copying and printing, when printing is necessary, in addition to a number of other initiatives. Miller Starr Regalia is committed to continuing to improve and implement additional practices to prevent pollution and conserve resources.
