Joel Hall is a transactional shareholder in Miller Starr Regalia’s Palo Alto office. With over 35 years of experience in national and international commercial leasing transactions, Joel’s clients have included Apple Inc., Chico's FAS, Inc., Ross Stores, Inc. and Gymboree Retail Stores, Inc.
Joel is recognized as an innovative negotiator with extensive experience in the drafting of retail commercial leases for developers and tenants. Before coming to Miller Starr Regalia, he was Assistant General Counsel for The Gap, Inc., in San Bruno, California.
EDUCATION
Joel received a J.D. from the Villanova University School of Law and earned a bachelor’s degree from Pennsylvania State University.
ASSOCIATIONS
Joel’s expertise in leasing transactions has also given him the opportunity to lecture and write for: the International Council of Shopping Centers, the Georgetown University Law Center Advanced Leasing Program, the American Law Institute, the American Bar Association, the American College of Real Estate Lawyers and the California Continuing Education of the Bar.
His scholarly writing has also been cited as secondary authority in both state and federal appellate court opinions. In 1988-1989, he was a contributor to the California Law Revision Commission with respect to changes to Assignment Law in California.
Joel is a member of the Real Property Section of the State Bar of California. He is also a member of the International Association of Attorneys and Executives in Corporate Real Estate (AECRE), and he serves on the advisory board of the Georgetown University Law Center Advanced Leasing Program.
