Mark Cameron has over 27 years of experience in California as a litigator, strategist, and negotiator of complex multi-party disputes and the enforcement of sophisticated contracts in the fields of business, commercial lending, commercial loan and guaranty collection, construction defects, environmental contamination, general real estate, products liability, and insurance. Clients Mark has represented have included major banks, subdivision developers, builders, contractors, subcontractors, engineers, manufacturers of wood, forest, and food products, court-appointed receivers, real estate brokers, wineries, hotel owners and others in the hospitality industry, commercial lessors, lessees, insureds, and many high-net-worth owners of businesses and real estate assets. Mark has served as lead counsel in resolving numerous 8 figure claims, in addition to hundreds of smaller matters. He has represented plaintiffs and defendants in trial, discovery, settlement, arbitration, enforcement, mediation, judicial reference, appeals, and other dispute resolution systems, in federal and state courts. Representative legal remedies obtained include awards of monetary damages, mandatory and prohibitory injunctive and declaratory relief, fault apportionment among co-tortfeasors, quiet title, attachment, appointment of receivers, insurance settlements, and complex real property solutions involving partitions in kind, easements, lot line adjustments, accessibility improvements, and construction defect repairs.
Mark’s lending practice includes the pursuit of commercial judicial foreclosure, attachment, deficiency claims, disposition of contaminated loan security, enforcement of notes and guarantees, and defense of lender liability claims. In environmental law matters, Mark’s practice revolves around advocacy and litigation of soil and water contamination, leaking underground storage tanks and related insurance coverage issues.
EDUCATION
Mark received a J.D. from the University of California Hastings College of the Law in 1981. He earned a master’s degree in economics from the University of California, Davis, in 1978, as well as a bachelor’s degree in 1976.
