Scott Shepard is a litigation shareholder in Miller Starr Regalia’s Walnut Creekoffice. With substantial experience representing clients in business and real estate litigation matters, Scott excels at matters involving construction law, construction defects, products liability, foreclosure and real property security, receiverships, title insurance and escrow, and commercial and residential unlawful detainer actions. He also specializes in easement and boundary disputes, including prescriptive easements, nuisance and trespass actions, hunting rights and obligations, appraiser negligence and real estate sales disclosure duties.
His clients include wood products manufacturers, financial institutions, contractors, corporations, building owners, property owners and academic institutions.
During his 23 years with the firm, Scott has tried cases, both jury and non-jury, to verdict. Scott has also successfully handled several arbitrations and numerous mediations for a wide range of clients.
EDUCATION
Scott received his J.D. from the University of California, Berkeley, Boalt Hall School of Law in 1990, where he was a member of the Ecology Law Quarterly. He earned his bachelor’s degree, magna cum laude, from the University of California, Davis in 1986, where he was also elected a member of the Phi Kappa Phi honor society.

Scott has rewritten in 2012 the chapters on Homesteads and Escheat in the Miller & Starr California Real Estate treatise and is the author of the Supplement for the Chapter on Fixtures in the same treatise.
