Miller Starr Regalia announced today that two litigators, Jana L. Contreras and Allison K. Wopschall, have been named shareholders. Both joined MSR as lateral associates in 2014 and work in the firm’s Walnut Creek headquarters.
Allison K. Wopschall is a Litigation Shareholder in Miller Starr Regalia's Walnut Creek office. Allison’s practice focuses on disputes and negotiation in commercial leasing, real estate transactions, land disputes, and business contracts. Allison also represents clients in quiet title and eminent domain proceedings. She has successfully represented both local and national clients, including individuals, property owners, developers and managers, national retailers, tenants, and financial institutions, among others. She has significant experience in both state and federal courts at the trial and appellate levels, as well as in arbitration and judicial reference proceedings.
Her published cases include North Valley Mall, LLC v. Longs Drug Stores California, LLC (2018) 27 Cal.App.5th 598, a case of first impression in California, which establishes that a reverse triangular merger does not constitute a sale of the target corporation’s real property.
Allison is Chair of Miller Starr Regalia’s Diversity Committee. She is also a Board member of the Real Estate Section of the Contra Costa County Bar Association and an active member of the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC).
Prior to joining Miller Starr Regalia, Allison worked as a litigator in the San Francisco office of Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher LLP, a prominent international law firm. She received her J.D. from UC Berkeley (Boalt Hall).
In her free time, Allison enjoys playing indoor soccer, craft brews, and rooting for Saint Mary’s College sports.
