Miller Starr Regalia (MSR), a preeminent California real estate law firm for more than 60 years, announced today the addition of a three-attorney team to its growing Transactional Department in Walnut Creek. Joining MSR from Bartko Pavia, the trio is led by shareholder Hilda Senseney and includes senior counsel Kimberly Weber and Hector Suarez. The group brings decades of experience representing national retail and office tenants in California and across the U.S., managing transactions related to retail and office portfolios.

“We’re thrilled to welcome this experienced group,” said Xavier Gutierrez, Chair of MSR’s Transactional Department. “This team brings significant depth of experience in retail and office leasing, acquisitions and dispositions that will benefit many of our clients.”

Senseney represents clients on all aspects of their real estate portfolios across the country, focusing on retail and office leasing and the acquisition and disposition of real property. She has worked at several national law firms, and handles commercial retail and office leases for landlord and tenant clients, including build to suit leases and purchase/sale agreements and ancillary documentation such as easements, CC&R’s, construction agreements, license agreements, confidentiality agreements, escrow holdback agreements, and 1031 and reverse 1031 agreements and consents.

“Miller Starr Regalia has long been regarded as a leader in real estate and land use law, not just in California, but nationally,” said Senseney. “The firm’s collaborative culture and commitment to excellence is an ideal platform for us to continue delivering high-value counsel to our clients.”

Weber’s practice is focused on leasing for national retail tenants, representing some of the country’s leading brands, ensuring that their leases align with strategic growth objectives and operational needs. She negotiates, drafts and structures leases that protect tenant interests while facilitating seamless market expansion into shopping centers nationwide. She helps national tenants secure favorable terms in highly competitive retail environments.

Suarez’ practice concentrates on complex retail lease negotiations on behalf of national retailers. He is experienced in advising clients on a wide variety of real estate transactions, including office leasing on behalf of both landlords and tenants, the acquisition and disposition of commercial and industrial properties, and the negotiation of financing and joint venture agreements. He frequently serves as local counsel for out-of-state-law firms negotiating commercial leases in California.

Senseney earned her J.D. from the University of California College of the Law, San Francisco, and her B.S. and B.B.A. from the University of Texas at Austin. Weber earned her J.D. from the University of California, Berkeley School of Law and her B.A. with Highest Distinction Honors from the University of California, Berkeley. Suarez earned his J.D. from the University of Texas School of Law and his B.A. from Colorado College.

“We’re thrilled to welcome these experienced practitioners to our firm,” said MSR Managing Shareholder Ella K. Gower. “Their arrival strengthens our bench and commitment to delivering sophisticated, business-focused counsel in California and across the country.”

Jennifer Graham joins with the team as a transactional paralegal with 25 years of experience in the real estate and land title profession. Her background spans both public and private sectors and centers on property law, legal due diligence, and real estate transactional support involving land transfers, commercial lending contracts, and regulatory compliance.
