Miller Starr Regalia (MSR), a preeminent California real estate firm for 50 years, announced today that Jana L. Contreras is joining the firm’s Walnut Creek headquarters as a litigation associate.
Contreras comes from the San Francisco office of Coblentz, Patch, Duffy & Bass LLP, where she was a commercial litigation associate representing and counseling clients in all aspects of pre-trial litigation in state and federal courts. She advised clients on a wide range of matters including real estate and commercial lease disputes, construction and other complex contract and business disputes.
“Real property litigation, which includes land use, environmental and eminent domain litigation, is a core practice area of the firm,” said Anthony M. Leones, Miller Starr Regalia managing shareholder. “Jana is the most recent addition to our group of bright, young litigation associates, who are an integral part of our growth and future.”
MSR’s Litigation Practice Group represents clients in a variety of matters involving business, real property, commercial, land use, environmental, condemnation, construction and insurance-related disputes. With 50 years of experience in real property law, the firm’s expertise extends to matters involving land use entitlements, subdivision and commercial development, common interest development, mixed-use projects, public projects, environmental permitting and regulation, leasing, financing and the sale and disposition of real property.
Contreras received her B.A. from the University of California, Los Angeles and her J.D. from the University of California Berkeley School of Law (Boalt Hall). She has been recognized by the San Francisco Bar Association’s Justice and Diversity Center as an outstanding volunteer in public service.
