Miller Starr Regalia (MSR), a leading California real estate law firm, announced today that Sean Marciniak has been named shareholder and Katie Jones has been elevated to senior counsel. Both work in the firm’s Walnut Creek headquarters.

Marciniak joined MSR in 2010 as an associate and represents public agencies, landowners and developers in a variety of environmental and land use matters, focusing his practice on litigation and counseling under the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA), National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), the Planning and Zoning Law, and the Community Redevelopment Law, and emerging laws addressing climate change and sustainable development. He serves on the Board of Directors for the Bay Planning Coalition.

Jones was an MSR summer associate before joining the firm in 2007 as an associate. She represents developers, property owners and national and regional retailers in real estate transactions, including negotiating and drafting retail leases, purchase and sale agreements and Covenants, Conditions & Restrictions (CC&R’s). She has also represented clients in a broad range of litigation matters, with an emphasis on commercial lease disputes and eminent domain issues.

“In the years Sean has been at Miller Starr Regalia he has become adept at the nuances of CEQA, which is complicated and evolving, as well as other environmental and land use laws and regulations,” said Anthony M. Leones, managing shareholder. “Katie has been a part of MSR since she was in law school and has developed into a terrific attorney. Both Sean and Katie have honed their skills and become an integral part of the firm.”
