Timothy Maes Joins Miller Starr Regalia as Transactional Associate in Walnut Creek

Miller Starr Regalia (MSR), a preeminent California real estate law firm for over 50 years, announced today that Timothy G. Maes is joining the firm’s Walnut Creek headquarters as a transactional associate.

Maes comes to MSR from the San Francisco office of Winston & Strawn, where he was a corporate associate with a focus in real estate and energy. He advised companies on a variety of corporate matters, including mergers and acquisitions. Maes has represented lenders and borrowers in secured financing transactions, particularly concerning real estate collateral. He has also advised clients regarding acquired and leased real estate and has represented clients that are regulated by the California Public Utilities Commission, providing counsel in water rate-setting proceedings and development, acquisition and sale of solar and wind energy projects.

“Tim brings to MSR a wide range of experience in financial transactions and public utility projects and proceedings,” said Anthony M. Leones, Miller Starr Regalia managing shareholder. “Those attributes make him a valued addition to our growing Transactional Department.”

MSR’s Transactional Practice Group works with clients involved in every aspect of the real estate industry, including leading international technology firms, national and regional retailers, shopping center developers, residential, retail, mixed-use, hospitality and industrial developers, banks and other financial institutions, management companies and real estate entrepreneurs. The Group handles the structuring and negotiating of complex transactions and due diligence investigations throughout the United States.

Maes received his B.A., magna cum laude, Phi Beta Kappa, from Occidental College and his J.D. from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law, where he served as senior articles editor of Hastings Law Journal. He is admitted to practice in California.
