Xavier Gutierrez Joins Miller Starr Regalia’s Transactional Department As Senior Counsel In Walnut Creek

Miller Starr Regalia, a preeminent California real estate firm for more than 45 years, announced today that Xavier L. Gutierrez is joining the firm’s Walnut Creek office as senior counsel in the transactional department, where he will be bring extensive experience in commercial, retail and office leasing transactions.

Prior to joining Miller Starr Regalia, Gutierrez was a senior associate at Los Angeles-based Pircher, Nichols & Meeks, where he spent nearly a decade representing landlords, tenants, borrowers, lenders, sellers, purchasers, developers and capital partners in negotiating a variety of real estate agreements including leases, purchase and sale agreements, loan documents, lease and loan workout agreements, joint venture agreements, declarations, and easements and access agreements.

“We are experiencing a tremendous uptick in our leasing, acquisition and disposition practices," said Hans A. Lapping, shareholder and chair of the firm’s Transactional Department. "Xavier has tremendous experience in each of these areas, particularly in complex, high-end retail and office leasing, two of the areas where we are seeing the greatest growth.”

Gutierrez earned his undergraduate degree from the University of California, Davis and his law degree from the University of Southern California Law School. He is admitted to practice in California and is a member of the International Council of Shopping Centers and speaks and writes frequently on landlord/tenant and commercial leasing issues.

“Xavier is originally from the Bay Area and was looking to return and work with a premier real estate firm that provides him with a platform that would allow him to continue to develop his practice, ” said Anthony M.
