Biography

Angela J. Yu is a litigation shareholder in Miller Starr Regalia's Walnut Creek Office. Her practice focuses on complex business litigation, in both federal and state courts.

Prior to joining Miller Starr Regalia, Angela worked as a commercial litigator in the Orange County office of Crowell & Moring LLP, an international law firm, and in the San Francisco office of Ropers Majeski. In 2018 and again in 2019, Angela was recognized as a "Northern California Super Lawyer - Rising Star" in Business Litigation.

Representative Matters

Pacho Limited Partnership, et al. v. Eureka Energy Co., San Luis Obispo County Superior Court No. 19CV0158.  Successfully represented a subsidiary of PG&E, as property owner, in complex dispute involving application of Civil Code section 717 to long-term lease of Wild Cherry Canyon, 2,400 acres of pristine coastline serving in part as buffer for Diablo Canyon Power Plant, largest power station and only operational nuclear plant in California.  Judgment entered in favor of client following four-week trial.

Weseloh, et al. v. County of Santa Cruz, Santa Cruz County Superior Court No.18CV03315.  Represent county in litigation filed by more than two dozen owners of beachside rental homes, challenging accepted dedication of public walkway between homes and public beach, for public use and for public coastal access.

City of Santa Clara v. D.E. II Restaurants, Inc., Santa Clara County Superior Court No. 19CV340508.  Prevailed in representing municipality in trial of sprawling objections to right to take private property by eminent domain for mixed-use redevelopment of municipality-owned property.  Defending municipality against multi-million dollar claims of precondemnation damages and just compensation.

Santa Clara County Housing Authority v. Trustee(s) of The De Rose Ranch Family Trust, et al., Santa Clara County Superior Court No. 19CV347999.  Successfully represented county housing authority in acquisition of property for preserving affordable housing for very low and extremely low income senior citizens.

City of Santa Clara v. L.A.W. LLC, Santa Clara County Superior Court No. 21CV385078.  Prevailed in representing municipality in obtaining default judgment authorizing condemnation of private property for construction of public infrastructure.
