Dana Kennedy advises real estate developers, investors, and other clients on a wide range of land use matters and real estate transactions, including zoning, planning, and the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA). Dana’s practice focuses on the processing of entitlements, supervising the preparation and approval of environmental documentation, and negotiating transactional documents associated with land use, project development, and construction, including agreements between private and public entities. She has also counseled clients on an array of real estate transactions, including the acquisition, disposition, and financing of retail, office, and hotel properties.
Prior to joining Miller Starr Regalia, Dana was a Special Counsel at Coblentz Patch Duffy & Bass LLP in San Francisco. Prior to that, she was an associate at J. Abrams Law, P.C. and Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher in San Francisco.

Dana received her J.D., cum laude, from the University of Michigan Law School. While at Michigan, she worked with the Michigan Law School Community and Economic Development Clinic, advising small business and non-profit organizations dedicated to the economic revitalization of Detroit, Michigan in connection with their land use needs. Dana was also a law clerk at the United States Attorney’s Office in San Diego, California. She earned her B.A. in political science, cum laude, from Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.
