Miller Starr Regalia (MSR), a preeminent California real estate law firm for more than 50 years, announced today that Dana Kennedy is joining the firm’s Land Use Department as a shareholder. She brings more than ten years of experience advising real estate developers, investors, and other clients on a wide range of land use matters and real estate transactions, including zoning, planning, and the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA).

In addition, Kennedy focuses on processing of entitlements, supervising the preparation and approval of environmental documentation, and negotiating transactional documents associated with land use, project development, and construction, including agreements between private and public entities. She has also counseled clients on an array of real estate transactions, including the acquisition, disposition, and financing of retail, office, and hotel properties.

“We are thrilled Dana has chosen to join MSR and look forward to her contributions to the team,” said Nadia Costa, co-chair of MSR’s Land Use Department. “She is a talented land use attorney who will provide additional bandwidth and depth to serve clients in our busy, in-demand practice.”

Kennedy earned her J.D., cum laude, from the University of Michigan Law School and her B.A. in political science, cum laude, from Wake Forest University. Earlier in her career, Kennedy practiced law at J. Abrams Law, P.C. and Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher in San Francisco.  She joins MSR from Coblentz Patch Duffy & Bass, where she was special counsel.

MSR’s Land Use Department counsels clients through California’s complicated development permitting and California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) compliance process at every level of government, facilitating and obtaining project entitlements and related environmental compliance. In addition, Miller Starr Regalia works with clients in connection with all aspects of land use due diligence, entitlement strategy, project coordination and negotiation, and project implementation.
